Campus Safety Services provides 24/7 service to all members of the Carleton University community and offers many programs and resources to support instructors, staff and students throughout the year. It is important that the Carleton community is aware of the different supports and services that are available.

The department has recently launched a new video to showcase and create awareness about some of the services they offer. Watch it below.

IMS Online Help Centre for classroom technology

For those teaching this term, don’t forget the IMS Online Help Centre can provide the answers to your classroom technology questions in a self-paced format. It features:

An immediate assistance section with information to help resolve the most common classroom issues
A classroom orientation tool with step-by-step instructions and video demonstrations on how to use the classroom technology
A quick tech guide for fast access to information on the classroom technology
An FAQ
A glossary

The help centre is just one of many ways IMS is supporting instructors in their use of classroom technology. You can also request one-on-one orientations to help you get familiarized with the classroom technology or call IMS directly at ext. 3815 for immediate classroom assistance.

Important message about Scantron processing in December

Exam season has arrived at Carleton, which means there will be a large volume of Scantrons that require processing at the EDC. Instructors using Scantrons are asked to drop off their sheets to the EDC main office (410 Dunton Tower) as soon as possible after their exam is done. This is to ensure that they are processed in a timely manner.

Our regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. However, in an effort to provide instructors with more flexibility for drop-offs, we will be extending our hours during the last week of exams. We will be open from 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. from Dec. 18-22.

Please note that all Scantrons must be dropped off no later than 6 p.m. on the 22nd to ensure that the exams are processed before the break. Otherwise, exams will be processed starting on Jan. 2. For instructors who have exams on the afternoon of December 22, we will follow up with more information for you shortly.

Reminder: In order to expedite the drop off process, please ensure the answer sheets are stacked face up with timing tracks on the left-hand side and a correctly completed key on top. Also, please ensure that you have a completed the Scantron Scanning Request Form with an accurate count of the number of exam sheets you are submitting for grading.

There will be disruptions to the following services during the dates and times listed below:

Network and Related Services – Robertson Hall Data Centre (RODC)
Sunday, September 24, 2017 – 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

Clients will experience intermittent disruptions to network connectivity for Carleton Central, cuLearn, cuPortfolio, Banner applications, Carleton.ca, Exchange/Outlook email, and VoIP Telephone services as ITS performs hardware maintenance.

Full service will be restored by 9:00 AM.

Mandatory password changes for faculty, contract instructors and TAs

Please be advised that all faculty, contract instructors and teaching assistants must change their MyCarletonOne (MC1) password by 4:15 p.m. today (Thursday, March 23). If you do not take action before this time, you will be locked out of Carleton’s systems until you change your password.

If you changed your MC1 password yesterday (Wednesday, March 22), you are not required to change your password again.

Your MC1 password is what you use to log into computers on campus, and access cuLearn and your Carleton email, among many other Carleton systems.

To change your MC1 password, please visit the ITS site. If you have questions or need help changing your password, please contact the ITS service desk (its.service.desk@carleton.ca).
