Ottawa, Ontario, K1S 5B6, Canada<\/p>\n<p>Telephone:\u00a0 1-613-520-2600 ext 1987.<\/p>\n<p>Email: mmjbrown at connect dot carleton dot ca.<\/p>\n<p>I am a post-doc in the Human-Oriented Software Lab collaborating locally with Robert Biddle, Stevenson Gossage and Jeff Wilson, and across Canada with a range of other researchers who are also on the Surfnet team.<\/p>\n<p>I was a student at Queen&#8217;s University for my undergradate and master&#8217;s degree, but I recently completed my PhD in Psychology at Carleton University.\u00a0 I was on the faculty in Computer Science at Victoria University of Wellington in Wellington New Zealand for many years before I crossed over to Psychology to continue to work in the area of human-computer interaction and interactive software experiences, from a different perspective.<\/p>\n<p>My research is in the area of collaboration, particularly multi-disciplinary collaborations directed toward the creation of software.\u00a0 I have worked as a developer for the better part of a decade, and so I understand the particular challenges of the discipline.\u00a0 I am also a cultural-historical psychologist and frequently leverage cultural-historical activity theory in my work.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Refereed Articles and Conference Publications<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brown, J., Lindaard,G., Biddle,R.
